ZZ Top is one of the most iconic international rock bands. It was founded in Houston (Texas) by Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard and Dusty Hill and has built a musical career spanning more than five decades which is characterised by an unmistakeable sound, which combines boogie rock, hard rock and blues rock, along with a distinctive style marked by their long beards and black sunglasses.
Throughout its career, it has sold more than fifty million albums, thereby, becoming one of the most influential bands of its genre. One of its most outstanding albums is Eliminator (1983), the band’s most iconic album, which accounts for much of its commercial success and defines its musical identity.
It boasts fifteen studio albums, as well as compilations, live albums and numerous well-known singles, such as La Grange, Sharp Dressed Man and Tush. Over the years, the band has worked with artists like John Fogerty, Dwight Yoakam or Rick Rubin. It has managed to maintain its essence over time, adapting without losing its character.
Following the death of the bass player, Dusty Hill in 2021, the band continues with Elwood Francis, consolidating the strength of a project that is still relevant today.
