The Canadian singer-songwriter, Patrick Watson, will be performing a concert on 18 January at the Teatro Eslava to present his latest album Uh Oh (2025).
Many people discovered this Canadian singer’s music after he co-wrote and participated in several songs of the album Ma Fleur by The Cinematic Orchestra (2007), including his best known song To Build a Home, but Watson’s career and his band of the same name has been forged on their own merit.
After composing music and releasing albums of different styles, Patrick Watson formed a group with the guitarist, Simon Angell, the percussionist, Robbie Kuster, and the bass player, Mishka Stein. It is a successful group that has performed with the likes of James Brown or Philip Glass.
Eight albums, composed by a band that is sensed to be non-conformist due to its flirtation with the experimental, and live performances that border on excellence due to their surprising and moving nature have led to their compositions often being compared with those of Jeff Buckley, Devendra Banhart, Andrew Bird or M. Ward.
Known for contributing to the soundtrack of popular series like Grey’s Anatomy or The Walking Dead, Patrick Watson released the album, Wave, in 2019, which was followed by Better in the Shade (2022), and his latest album Uh Oh (2025), which is his eighth studio album.
