The Noches del Botánico festival is holding its 8th edition from 7 June to 27 July 2024 at Alfonso XIII Royal Botanical Garden, located at Madrid Complutense University. This concert series takes place on summer evenings and this year, national and international artists such as PJ Harvey, Status Quo, Queens of the Stone Age, Simple Minds, Take That and James Blunt will participate, presenting their latest albums and hits live in this unique setting.
This June and July, the university's Botanical Garden will host a vibrant festival that bridges generations and musical styles. From jazz and Latin to flamenco, rock, and pop, this eclectic event promises to be a highlight of summer nights, offering something for everyone. But it's not just about the music. It's about connecting with nature in a unique urban setting, providing the perfect backdrop for your favourite artists. So, every evening of the programme, starting from 7pm, head to the gardens and let the festival work its magic.
Just some of the artists performing at this 2024 edition are English singer, songwriter and poet, PJ Harvey; British rock band, Status Quo; Simple Minds, one of the most influential rock bands of the 1980s; the popular British pop boy band, Take That, which triumphed in the 1990s and is now presenting its album This Life, six years after its previous studio release Wonderland; and British singer-songwriter and musician James Blunt.
Other highlights include the American funk band, Vulfpeck, which will be performing its only date in Spain as part of the festival, and the American stoner rock and alternative rock group, Queens of the Stone Age.
They will all be joined by other artists, such as British musician James Blake; Spanish indie-pop singer Mikel Izal; Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard; the band St. Paul & The Broken Bones; the great lady of international Celtic music Loreena McKennitt; Mexican-American artist Julieta Venegas; British folk rock singer and songwriter Michael David Rosenberg, better known as Passenger; Argentinean-American musician Kevin Johansen; and the American rock band Toto, which was formed in 1976 by keyboard player David Paich and drummer Jeff Porcaro.
In 2023, the 7th edition of Noches del Botánico introduced a series of enhancements that, together with the green rest areas, market stands at the on-site Mercado del Encanto, and a wide range of services, help make the festival one of the most immersive and sustainable events in Spain.
