Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro Parish Church, Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Parish Church and Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo y San Isidro Parish Church (Collegiate) will host a new edition of this cycle from 18 December to 3 January 2026, which will bring together a special Christmas music programme. Various concerts will offer a selection of the best music from different genres, such as flamenco, classical music, or fado by artists like Sara Correia, Arcángel, Chico Pérez, Esperanza Fernández and Joni Jiménez, among others.
The programme will kick off on 18 December in Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro Parish Church with the show Farinelli’s Violin, featuring the musicians, Jorge Jiménez & Tercia Realidad. In the 18th century, Farinelli, the castrato singer, was more than a star. His voice was supernatural, almost magical. For this reason, he was sought after by the palaces and courts across Europe, which meant he lived in Madrid for a time. In this show, we cannot bring his voice back, but we can recreate his magic in an instrumental journey in which the violin and a vibrant ensemble recreate his brilliance, his lyricism and the intensity that stole hearts. It is an original piece by Tercia Realidad, a group created and directed by the prestigious violinist, Jorge Jiménez, who, like Farinelli, is greatly acclaimed on stages all over the world.
The next day, the parish church will host Cantares de Esperanza (Songs of Hope) by the singer Esperanza Fernández, one of the most relevant voices on the scene, accompanied by the guitarist Joni Jiménez.
From 23 December, the programme will move to Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Parish Church, kicking off with the performance by the Portuguese singer specialised in fado, Sara Correia. She will present her latest project, Liberdade.
On 26 December, it will be the turn of the flamenco singer, Arcángel with the Flamenco Christmas concert, in which he recreates beautiful Christmas carols and popular songs, adding a modern touch.
Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo y San Isidro Parish Church (Collegiate) will host the A Piano for Christmas recital by Chico Pérez on 2 January, in a journey through the music and melodies that have marked Christmas since childhood. In addition to Chico Pérez playing the piano, two voices and a violoncello will create an intimate and emotional atmosphere with a repertoire that includes adaptations of traditional Christmas carols, as well as Chico Pérez’s own compositions inspired by the festive season.
The concert series draws to a close on 3 January with the prestigious vocal and instrumental ensemble specialised in music from the Golden Age, La Grande Chapelle. Directed by Albert Recasens, the ensemble offers a musical journey to the 17th century, a period of splendour for the arts in Spain. This concert brings together Christmas pieces by the Court’s leading composers — Carlos Patiño, Juan Hidalgo, Cristóbal Galán, Sebastián Durón, and Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco — in a programme that combines devotion, exaltation and emotion to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus.
