On 5 January 2026, the Teatro Real will host the traditional Epiphany charity concert, which this year will bring together Madrid’s Municipal Symphony Band and the group, Mocedades.
This concert on the eve of Epiphany, in conjunction with the Madrid Municipal Symphony Band, is an opportunity to enjoy classics from Spanish song and signature songs. It is a not to be missed charity event, in which all of the proceeds will go to an NGO.
Each year, the Christmas programme makes room for a very special concert at the Teatro Real. This year’s edition includes Mocedades, a historic name in music in Spain and in the Spanish language. This group’s melodies and voices have accompanied different generations for more than fifty years. The group, currently led by one of the founding sisters, Izaskun Uranga Amezaga, continues to be a reference for fans of good songs and vocal harmonies that linger in the memory. Mocedades is still active and is working on new projects, unreleased recordings, collaborations with well-known artists and the development of a programme of symphony concerts in different countries, having performed more than 200 symphony concerts in America and Spain.
They will perform alongside the Madrid Municipal Symphony Band, a true cultural treasure for the city, at the Teatro Real. Founded in 1909 with the aim of promoting symphonic music in the capital, it has also taken the name and sound of Madrid all over the country and has organised educational activities and programmes to support young performers. For this reason, it is a source of inspiration and training for new generations of musicians from Madrid. Its current conductor, Dutchman Jan Cober, is one of the most influential and respected figures on the international scene of music bands, with a style characterised by its precision, musicality and the ability to convey emotions through performance.
This year, the proceeds from the concert will go to the Adopt a Grandparent Foundation, which supports our elderly by connecting generations and dignifying old age. This is yet another reason to attend this unique event.
