Miluca Sanz. Strata. The immortality of the ephemeral

From 24 October to 26 April, the CentroCentro cultural space will be hosting an exhibition that brings together a selection of the well-known diaries by the artist, Miluca Sanz, which are inspired by the poetics of everyday life, the fleeting and the ephemeral, in an audiovisual format.

For years, Miluca Sanz has been pursuing elusive time that the calendar dreams of stopping. She defines it as “liquid time”, an obsession for her, which she exorcises in her unique diaries to ensure that it does not slip away. 

The artist photographs specific moments and places around Madrid (leaving a concert, visiting a museum, walking quickly in the rain, etc.) and she tries to fix and retain them so that they live on. The images are dated with the corresponding page from the Mygra calendar in her hand, registering the event that could only occur on that day in that place. 

The selection that can be seen in the Strata. The Immortality of the Ephemeral exhibition, curated by Estrella de Diego corresponds to Diary-Calendar. The artist carried out this project throughout 2013 via her Instagram profile and now it is moving from digital format to an exhibition.

The exhibition also includes a piece created specifically for CentroCentro, an installation of relics rescued from moments captured in photographs, in which Miluca Sanz offers her own archaeology of the city.  Everyday objects are on display without any hierarchy, following the order of the calendar pages for the whole of July 2025, which appear in the photographs and are exhibited as fossils frozen in time.
