On 21 November, the Palacio Vistalegre Arena is hosting a unique show: the best musical tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. A show performed by a selection of dancers, singers and musicians that has won over audiences all across the world, selling more than 400,000 tickets in Europe and America.
Vocalist Lenny Jay, chosen by the Jackson family for this role, takes to the stage in the persona of Michael Jackson to perform his greatest hits. The physical and vocal resemblance is astounding, recreating Jackson’s own performances in incredible detail, and whipping up fans to a frenzy once more.
The show includes tracks such as Black or White, Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror, and Billie Jean, all performed in Jackson's legendary costumes and featuring his exact choreographies, as Lavelle Smith Jr., Michael's choreographer on his last three tours, has worked on this tribute show, as has guitarist Jennifer Batten.
Michael Jackson is one of the most famous solo artists in the history of music. Throughout his career he sold over 350 million records, making him the biggest-selling pop artist of all time and one of the biggest-selling musicians in the world. He is now a cultural icon, and his album Thriller is still the best-selling record to date, with some 65 million copies sold worldwide.
In addition to his music, Jackson also popularised various dance moves such as the robot and the moonwalk, which he named. Among many other awards, he received 26 American Music Awards and 15 Grammys.
