The "Manteo del pelele" is one of the most deep-rooted traditions of the Madrid Carnival season. This fun activity, which is suitable for all, is accompanied by pipe music played by the Arrabel Cultural Association.
At this event, and just as Goya captured in one of his popular paintings El manteo del pelele, a straw doll representing someone who deserves to be tossed in a blanket is thrown up in the air while those present sing mocking songs.
