The American rock band with southern roots, made up of the sisters, Rebecca and Megan Lowell, is visiting the La Riviera Hall on 8 November 2023 as part of their latest tour of concerts in which they will present their new album, Blood Harmony.
Larkin Poe is an American rock-rock band with southern roots led by sisters, Rebecca and Megan Lovell (they perform live as a quartet), who are often touted as "the little sisters of the Allman Brothers” and were voted "Best Discovery of Glastonbury 2014" by the UK's The Observer.
At the start of their musical career, both sisters were called the Lowell Sisters. This musical adventure resulted in two albums and lasted until 2009 until they presented themselves as Larkin Poe in January 2010. Under this name, they released a series of five EPs, four of which were in 2010: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter; and one in 2011, Thick As Thieves, a live DVD, Live From Stongfjorden (2012), and several collaborations, until they released their first LP, Kin, in 2014, which finally opened the doors to success, with Elvis Costello among their mentors.
They have been nominated for the Grammy Awards in the category of Best Contemporary Blues Album for Venom & Faith (2018), and both the aforementioned LP and Self Made Man (2020) have reached Number One on the Billboard of blues albums.
Now, they are presenting Blood Harmony in a new concert tour, which is the seventh studio album in their career. This album confirms Larkin Poe as an authority of contemporary roots rock and it is an example of their huge talent as vocalists and songwriters.
