The Canadian Cirque du Soleil company is coming to Madrid with one of its most acclaimed touring shows, KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities. Spectators will be able to escape reality and enter into a world of extraordinary imagination under the Big Top that will be set up at Escenario Puerta del Ángel from 30 October to 7 December 2026.
Touring Spain for the first time, this show invites spectators to immerse themselves in a universe in which imagination and curiosity defy all possible limits. Remaining loyal to the close bond that unites Madrid, a city that Cirque du Soleil has visited twenty times since its first visit in 1998, KURIOS will be the next show to come to the city for the first time.
Acclaimed by critics worldwide, KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities returns to the company’s characteristic style, combining spectacular acrobatics with a refreshing touch of poetry, art and humour. This show offers an escape from reality, revealing a festive, steampunk-inspired world where the unexpected lurks around every corner.
Premièred in Montreal in 2014, it has won over more than 6 million spectators in more than 40 cities worldwide with more than 3,000 performances by its cast of 50 artists.
In an alternate yet familiar past, KURIOS enters the curio cabinet of a Seeker who is convinced that there exists a hidden, invisible world, a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams lie waiting. Once the Seeker manages to unlock the door to this world of wonders, time stands still and a collection of characters from another world invade his cabinet of curiosities, bringing his improvised creations to life one by one. As what is visible becomes invisible and the perspectives are transformed, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities bursts into a celebration of the power of imagination.
