Kings Of Convenience

On 7 April 2025, the Norwegian indie pop folk duo will be performing in the Sala Cándido Lara auditorium of Teatro Lara as part of their B Sides Tour 2025, looking at some of the hidden gems in their back catalogue. They are playing in Madrid as part of Primavera Sound.

Norwegian musicians Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe are one of the most intoxicating creative couples in European pop thanks to their project Kings of Convenience. They got together in 1999 in Bergen, Norway, and their music is based mainly on acoustic guitars, with string arrangements and pianos, and is strongly influenced by bands such as Belle & Sebastian and Simon & Garfunkel. 

In 2001, they released their début album, Quiet is the New Loud. It was not only their début album but also a strong statement of intent that has defined their entire music career and has allowed their folk-pop sound to resonate around the world for more than two decades.

Later on they released Riot on an Empty Street (2004) and Declaration of Dependence (2009), two albums that steered the duo away from comparisons with the likes of Simon & Garfunkel to create their own style. 

Their music formula has won them numerous fans all over the world, and their new B Sides Tour 2025 will be bringing them to Madrid to perform some of the hidden gems in their back catalogue.
