Although her debut album under the name Katy Hudson was released in 2001, it was not until 2008 that the artist rose to fame under the stage name of Katy Perry and the album, One of the Boys. It is a pop rock album with teen pop influences, which was a hit thanks to the singles I Kissed a Girl, Hot N Cold, Thinking of You and Waking Up in Vegas.
In 2010, she released her second studio album, Teenage Dream, in which she ventured into genres like dance pop with disco, electronica, funk, house and hip hop influences.
