The Swedish indie-folk singer-songwriter is returning to the stage with a new tour which will bring him to the Teatro Real on 29 July 2026. A unique event as part of Revolution´65 Festival where he presents his fifth studio album, Against The Dying Of The Light (2026).
The Swedish musician of Argentine descent – hence his Latin American influences – grew up around music. English and American pop and rock hits captivated the artist from a young age, laying the foundations of his Neofolk style that has won over a broad audience.
José González knows how to engage audiences through his compositions that move between pop and folk. His tracks work just as well acoustically as they do with a backing band, and even accompanied by the experimental philharmonic orchestra The String Theory. All formats suit the albums released by the artist so far: Veneer (2003), for which he received the European Border Breakers Award; In Our Nature (2007); Vestiges & Claws (2015); and most recently Local Valley (2021).
He has also covered popular tracks such as Teardrop by Massive Attack; Hand On Your Heart by Kylie Minogue; Cello Song by Nick Drake; and Heartbeats by The Knife. His songs have been featured on the soundtracks of different series including One Tree Hill, Crosses, The O.C. and Storm, as well as films such as The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013).
On this occasion, José González is embarking on a tour to present his new album Against The Dying Of The Light (2026). An album that comes five years after the successful Local Valley (2021) and is presented to the public as an artistic response to the current dystopia.
