Manga, anime, video games and in general, everything related to the Japanese culture will yet again fill Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stad on 26 and 27 September 2026 thanks to Japan Weekend Madrid. This event is the perfect meeting point to understand the Japanese culture through this fair in which a wide range of activities related to the country of the rising sun can be enjoyed.
Japan Weekend Madrid will bring together numerous activities, such as cosplay competitions, concerts, workshops, stands with hand-made products, merchandising, board games, video games, or the Pokemon Zone, a specific space for Pokemon trainers to enjoy a range of official competitions. As part of the fair’s programme, well known illustrators, professional cosplayers and youtubers will be present. There will also be a space for music with performances related to the world of manga and the Japanese culture.
The competitions that can be highlighted in the programme are Japan Weekend Cosplay Show (JWCS), a cosplay competition with performances that seek the best possible show; the Cosplay Fashion Show; the International Cosplay League; the Children’s Cosplay competition; the Japan Weekend Idol Festival, the cosplayers dance and performance competition from series and video games with an idol theme; Asian Cover Dance, a talent show to find the best national performance and imitation of a KPOP, JPOP or MPOP group; and Karaoke.
