Born in California, Gregory Porter has, in just a few years, become a leading figure on the international jazz scene. The two-time Grammy Award-winning musician now returns to Madrid, seven years after his last visit, on his new 2025 tour to perform at the Teatro Real opera house on 10 October.
Porter released his debut solo album Water in 2010–a vocal gem that combined jazz standards with original compositions. The album earned him a Grammy nomination, as did his second record, Be Good (2012). His third album, Liquid Spirit (2013), went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Having sold more than 100,000 copies worldwide, it also holds the distinction of being the most-streamed jazz album in history.
In 2017, he released Nat King Cole & Me, a deeply personal tribute to the legendary singer Nat King Cole. The album was recorded with a seventy-piece orchestra conducted by six-time Grammy winner Vince Mendoza.
Known as “the man whose voice is like liquid gold”, Porter effortlessly crosses musical boundaries, captivating audiences worldwide. His 2025 tour, which now brings him to Madrid, follows a string of sold-out performances, including four unforgettable nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
