On the Geography of the River. Linarejos Moreno (PHotoESPAÑA 2026)

The National Archaeological Museum will host an exhibition from 16 June to 20 September, which forms part of the PHotoESPAÑA 2026  photography festival, in which Linarejos Moreno presents a photographic project designed as a site-specific intervention.

The photographer from Madrid is returning to the festival after winning the 2024 Best Photography Book of the Year Award in the Bibliophile category at PHotoESPAÑA  for On the Geography of Green. 

In On the Geography of the River, the photographer explores the  intersection between natural and human history, activating collective memory and landscape to question how knowledge of the territory is built. The artist uses large format photographs and layered compositions, incorporating references to the act of taking the photograph, the history of painting, information on shooting and physical variables to question the canonical outlook that has defined the portrayal of landscape.

Linarejos Moreno (Madrid Spain, 1974) is a renowned French-Spanish visual artist whose work includes photography, painting and installations, whereby she explores the relationship between science, technology, capital and subjectivity in publications and exhibitions that highlight her importance in contemporary practices.
