The organisers of the ESTAMPA Fair have decided to postpone its 28th edition, which was scheduled to be held from 19 to 22 November 2020, to 8 to 11 April 2021
The Estampa Contemporary Art Fair is holding a special edition from 8 to 11 April at the Hall 6 at IFEMA - Feria de Madrid. It will be the 28th edition and will have a general programme and curated sections, which will bring together more than 80 national and international galleries and diverse forums, debates and parallel activities. This event seeks to position itself as the major event in the art market, whereby it is a reference for galleries and collectors.
This special edition will be held in accordance with all of the safety protocols and health measures implemented by IFEMA at its facilities to guarantee the protection of exhibitors and visitors. This event aims to reactivate the presence of the gallery sector in Spain and offer an experience with safe and satisfactory visits and programmes designed to be effective and earn the trust of those present.
The Fair has organised a new programme of Collectors’ Routes which aims to coordinate and regulate guided visits of specific groups of collectors and special guests. A route will be established for each of them in accordance with its needs and interests expressed, with the VIP room as the centre of attention and meeting point, sponsored by Cervezas Alhambra.
In parallel, a virtual space complementing the in-person part of the fair has been designed for the occasion. There will be an on-line initiative in which the participating galleries will display and develop the programme presented at Estampa to visitors and collectors. A website space will replace the traditional catalogue and will be active during the weeks following the fair, hence boosting gallery activity.
Estampa is a contemporary art fair that brings together over 80 Spanish and international galleries and is a European reference within the publishing and multiple works sector, promoting Spanish galleries and public and private collecting of contemporary art.
The prizes for acquisition and artistic residences that are awarded at Estampa stand out for their number and relief. Like in previous editions, the DKV Collection award-acquisition, the Community of Madrid/Estampa Prize, the Estampa Residence/Casa Velázquez grant, the Navacerrada Collection, Campocerrado Collection, Kells Collection, Jiménez Rivero Collection purchasing award and the prize for the Best ESTAMPA Stand will all be awarded.
