In recent years, flamenco saetas have formed part of the Easter programme. Leading flamenco singers will accompany some processions with their art (Maundy Thursday to Easter Saturday) with recitals from the balconies of some of the most emblematic buildings in Madrid from 17 to 19 April.
The saetas programme kicks off on 17 April (Maundy Thursday) with two performances from the balconies of the Real Casa de Correos and the Plaza de la Villa. These two saetas will be accompanied by Morenito de Íllora Hijo and Moisés Vargas.
On the second day, 18 April (Good Friday) there will be saetas from the Real Casa de Correos, the Plaza de la Villa and the balcony of the Four Seasons Madrid Hotel with performances by Manuel de la Tomasa, Reyes Carrasco and Lela Soto, respectively.
Finally, on 19 April (Easter Saturday) the Saeta of Our Lady of Solitude and the Dead Christ will be presented from the balcony of the Plaza de la Villa accompanied with music by Rocío Luna.
