The Darkness, the iconic British band, is embarking on a tour to present its latest album, Dreams On Toast (2025), which will be stopping off at La Riviera on 22 October. The support group for this concert will be the Irish rock band, Dea Matrona.
The group led by brothers Justin Hawkins (guitar and vocals) and Dan Hawkins (guitar) got together in 2000 and was later joined by Frankie Poullain (bass) and Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums). The band has established itself as one of the most respected and recognised groups on the hard rock and glam metal scene.
The Darkness showed that it had star quality on its debut album, Permission to Land (2003), which was confirmed by the critical and commercial success of this album, selling more than four million copies worldwide. Songs like I Believe in A Thing Called Love and Christmas Time (Don't Let the Balls End) helped to cement this success.
Strongly influenced by bands from the 1970s (David Bowie, AC/DC, Queen, Led Zeppelin, etc.), the group found its own style and continued to captivate its many fans in other albums, such as One Way Ticket to Hell... And Back (2005), Hot Cakes (2012), Last Of Our Kind (2015), The Darkness - Live at Hammersmith (2018), Easter is cancelled (2019) and Motorheart (2021).
Now the band is returning to the stage on a new tour to promote its latest album, Dreams On Toast, released on 28 March 2025 on the Canary Dwarf and Cooking Vinyl labels.
