The Alfonso XIII Royal Botanical Garden at the Complutense University will host the second edition of the Chefs on Fire Festival in Madrid on 4 October 2025. Some of the most renowned faces on today’s gastronomic scene will come together to showcase their creations in an event that also includes live music by six artists each day. The Michelin star chefs, Javier Aranda, Iván Cerdeño and João Oliveira are the first to have confirmed their participation in the latest edition.
Chefs on Fire has established itself as a reference of international gastronomic entertainment. This prestigious festival is now coming to a natural and sustainable environment in Madrid, whose common thread is the aroma of wood, fire and embers.
This event challenges 15 great figures from the national and international gastronomic scene to leave their facilities to cook solely with fire and wood. Barbecues, grills, bonfires, rotisseries or griddles, all fed with wood and charcoal fires. Furthermore, all the dishes will be created live, in full view of the attendees, who will be able to talk to the chefs and learn more about their dishes.
In this 2025 edition, which includes the collaboration of the Portugal Tourist Board (Visit Portugal), the festival will slightly modify its format: Saturday will be divided into two sessions - from 12 Noon to 5pm and from 7pm to Midnight - and the times on Sunday will be from 12 Noon to 5pm. This modification seeks to improve the experience without losing its essence. This year, more than fifteen Spanish and Portuguese chefs will be cooking unique dishes live. The Michelin star chefs, Javier Aranda, Iván Cerdeño and João Oliveira are the first to have confirmed their participation.
Following the success of the first edition held in Madrid in October 2024, the organisers of the gastronomic festival have confirmed its return to Madrid in order to continue consolidating the Spanish city as a world reference in gastronomy. Like last year, the programme will revolve around live cooking over charcoal, featuring meat, fish and vegetable dishes and desserts prepared by renowned chefs. A total of 30 chefs will participate (15 each day).

Last year’s edition included the participation of chefs like Janaína Torres, considered to be the world's best chef by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants; Tekuna Gachechiladze, known as the Queen of modern Georgian cuisine; and Pablo Rivero and Guido Tassi, from Don Julio in Buenos Aires, which is renowned as the world’s best meat restaurant. Thomas Troisgros, from Olympe in Río de Janeiro, and Massimiliano Delle Vedove, from Smoked Room in Madrid, with two Michelin stars, were also present.
The 2024 edition in Madrid also offered a music programme by artists like Pájaro Sunrise, Nola Brass Band and La Perra Blanco, among others. These concerts complemented the gastronomic experience and created a festive atmosphere that embraced visitors over the two days.
Thanks to the diversity of the chefs, roasts can be savoured, along with very different dishes, techniques and flavours, ranging from vegetarian to desserts, pizzas or sushi. The offer is rounded off with the participation of 12 great restaurants from Madrid that will offer their "Bites", some of the most emblematic dishes from their menus adapted to be cooked with the essence of the festival.
