Considered one of the most successful fado singers of her generation, Carminho will be coming to the Teatro Real on 25 July 2026 to perform as part of Revolution´65 Festival.
Considered one of the greatest voices of Fado music and one of the most internationally renowned Portuguese artists, Carminho will be giving a concert prepared especially for the festival where she will perform her most famous songs while paying tribute to the city of Lisbon.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1984, Maria do Carmo de Carvalho Rebelo de Andrade, better known as Carminho, is considered one of the great voices of Portuguese music today and a leading light in renewing the genre.
Throughout her career, she has performed at numerous venues and festivals and has released five studio albums. The first one came out in 2009, Fado, followed by Alma in 2012 and Canto in 2014, which featured artists such as Nana Vasconcelos, Jaques Morelenbaum, Javier Limón, Carlinhos Brown, Marisa Monte, and Caetano Veloso. The album included a duet with Marisa Monte written by Arnaldo Antunes (Chuva no mar), a track by Miguel Araujo (Ventura), songs with lyrics by Fernando Pessoa (Na Ribeira deste Rio), Carlos Paião (História Linda) and a song by Alberto Janes (Destino).
Later she released Carminho Canta Tom Jobim in 2016, and her most recent record, Maria, came out in 2018. The artist has garnered public and critical acclaim with all her records.
