The Botanical Garden at the Complutense University (Alfonso XIII Royal Botanical Garden) will host a performance by the American singer and songwriter Brandi Carlile, winner of eleven Grammy awards, on 12 July as part of the Nights at the Botanical festival. For the occasion, Audrey McGraw will be the support group, who accompanied her on the Lost Time Tour 2025 around the United Kingdom and Europe.
Brandi Carlile is one of the great champions of North American music. At the age of eight, she started singing Johnny Cash songs, and by the time she was 16 she was playing her own compositions on the guitar. Her music has been classified in several genres, including pop, rock, alternative country, indie and folk. Over the course of her career she has won eleven Grammy Awards and has sold half a million copies of her seven studio albums since 2005.
She has accumulated eight studio albums throughout her career, including Brandi Carlile (2005), The Story (2007), Give Up the Ghost (2009), Bear Creek (2011), The Firewatcher's Daughter (2015), By the Way, I Forgive You (2018), In These Silent Days (2021) and Who Believes in Angels?, released in April 2025.
On this occasion, she is joined by the artist from Tennessee but resident in California, Audrey McGraw. Daughter of the famous singers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, her life has been linked to music from an early age, especially piano and songwriting. Her style combines a deep vocal presence with organic arrangements that bring intimate lyrics to life.
As a presentation card, she has released the song I Am...I Said, a heartfelt cover version of the Neil Diamond classic, which she performs with a personal, soulful and nostalgic approach, paying tribute to Nashville.
