On 12 March, the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium will host the second leg of the Round of 16 tie featuring an exciting Madrid derby between the city's top two teams. This match will determine which side advances to the Champions League quarter-finals.
Real Madrid and Atlético have faced each other six times in the Champions League, most recently in the semi-finals of the 2016-2017 season, which was won by Real Madrid with an overall score of 4-2. The winning side of this Round of Sixteen knock-out phase will face the winner of the match between PSV Eindhoven and Arsenal Football Club in the quarter-finals.
