46th Antique and Second-hand Book Fair

Paseo de Recoletos is hosting from 2 to 19 May 2024 the 46th^h Antique and Second-hand Book Fair, which will gather 37 specialist booksellers from all over Spain.

The poster of the fair was designed by Raúl Fernández Calleja. Held since 1977, the Antique and Second-Hand Book Fair offers a wide range of backlist titles and second-hand books from Spanish booksellers at attractive prices. The exhibitors’ collections include antique books, first editions by Spanish writers from the Generation of ’98 and the Generation of ’27 (some of them signed by the authors), illustrated editions, books in fine bindings, manuscripts from different periods, postcards and valuable rare books that will catch the covetous eye of book lovers, scholars, amateurs and the general public.

Prints will be on sale too, including posters, lithographs and engravings with a variety of themes and designs. Visitors will find original drawings, posters, fashion magazines, advertisements, documents, photos, postcards and all sorts of treats for collectors of printed items.

The Antique and Second-hand Book Fair also offers an opportunity to look in on the largest antiquarian bookstore in central Madrid, putting more than half a million books at the reach of everyone’s hand. Both Madrileños and visitors from other towns will discover a vast treasure trove of items that will kindle their love of books and reading.
