Located in a historic building in the city centre which housed Madrid’s last porno cinema, this large space devoted to entertainment strives to promote film culture by holding themed series. The range of street-style culinary offerings, which are great for social gatherings, add an extra dash of spice.
Sala Equis is divided into four areas: the entrance Terrace, a large corridor with an alley structure that welcomes visitors; the Ambigú, which is one of the first meeting and debate areas with low tables; tthe Plaza, the former stalls of the Alba cinema, has been transformed into the Sala Equis culture square, a place where shared experiences are mixed around an informal gastronomic offer designed for sharing. Concerts in acoustic format, staged pieces tailor-made for its specific stage and chance encounters form the spirit of this shared space ; and the Cinema Hall, with 55 seats and exclusively devoted to the film cycles that are scheduled regularly, in subtitled original version and it also hosts visits by actors, directors or scriptwriters to participate in meetings and special screenings.
In addition to screenings (films, concerts, video clips, film galas and musicals), the activities held in the venue include theatre, ad hoc stage performances designed for the space and acoustic concerts.
