In December 2024, this innovative museum opened its doors near Plaza de Callao in Madrid, promising to become a mecca for all video game enthusiasts. The building that once housed the popular Central bookshop (now located just across the street) is home to this new space, which successfully launched its first venue in Malaga in 2023.
OXO's mission is to showcase the history and legacy of video games. Backed by Kaiju Group, a Malaga-based company dedicated to culture, technology and entertainment, the new Madrid video game museum aims to serve as a meeting point for a large community of gamers nationwide and encourage the creation of new technological projects.
Spanning over 1,600 square metres, OXO features a permanent exhibition covering 70 years of video game history, from its beginnings to the present day. Through a curated selection of video games and platforms, visitors can enjoy a unique journey through the evolution of the industry.
