This foundation is dedicated to conserving and disseminating the work of painter Manuel Benedito (1875- 1963), eminent portrait painter from Valencia. It was set up in October of 2002 as an initiative of Vicenta Benedito, the artist's niece and adopted daughter, and it is located in the place that was the painter's home-studio until he died.
Manuel Benedito studied at the San Carlos School of Fine Art and later in the workshop of Joaquín Sorolla, whom he always acknowledged as his master. He studied in Rome and travelled all around Europe, participating in various international exhibitions, combining tradition and modernity in his work.
The Foundation exhibitions the collection of art works that the artist kept throughout his life, as well as collections added subsequently.
