This innovative space devoted to the world of comics seeks to become a home for all fans of the ninth art when it opens to the public on 6 February. Located in Arganzuela, very close to Delicias station, it will house a comic library and temporary exhibitions will be organised by cartoonists of the likes of Max, Juan Berrio and Amelia Navarro. There will also be a store.
La Embajada de los Tebeos arose from the P.E.R.R.C.E.B.E. Cultural Association, founded by Miguel Bartolomé, Juan José Jiménez Blázquez (known as Juanjo 'El Rápido') and Marian San José, a group of friends who love comics and wanted to create a space to protect, exhibit and recognise Spanish cartoons in the heart of Madrid.
The origin of this comic library is Juanjo's private collection of comics, which will be extended with contributions from members and other fans of Spanish comics.
In addition to exhibitions, all kinds of events related to comics will be organised, including the “Patanegra” flea market on Sundays.
