Located in the heart of Chueca, this gallery supports international art and is committed to finding and showcasing links between historic pieces and the art scene on the Iberian Peninsula today. Currently, the gallery is focused on seeking out authentic positions and languages from the 80s to the present day.
The gallery is also honouring the legacy of the former Galería Heinrich Ehrhardt, founded in 1980 by Heinrich Erhardt, which acted as a cultural intermediator between the Spanish market and contemporary German art.
With the latest additions to the gallery’s roster of artists and its current programming focus, Galería Ehrhardt Flórez aims to create a generational context in the Spanish visual arts, highlighting a series of figures who present their own artistic languages that, nevertheless, project an international perspective.
Following this line of research, in recent years the gallery has also wanted to support and develop specific productions and previously unseen projects in our country.
Currently, it represents more than 20 artists and legacies, and the exhibition programme offers an intergenerational, multidisciplinary perspective. Artists born in the second half of the 20th century join a powerful generation that is growing in parallel to the art gallery, connecting proposals that develop alongside avant-garde languages and a profound social and cultural commitment.
