Chueca is home to this space devoted to the world of flamenco. Founded in 2019 by Rosana de Aza, who for years was the director of Casa de la Memoria in Seville, it embarked on a new stage in April 2022 with the great dancers Lisi Sfair and Pedro Córdoba as owners, directors and alma mater of the project.
Its facilities, which are fully accessible, hold exhibitions and diverse activities related to art and the flamenco culture. As soon as you enter, you find the reception and gallery, dedicated to the exhibition and sale of exclusive pieces by Spanish artists, always with Flamenco as the unifying thread. These exhibitions support the creation and promotion of Spanish culture in all its aspects: painting, sculpture, fashion, photography...
The centre sells unique artisan objects linked to the world of flamenco: manila shawls in different colours made by Foronda, flamenco jackets created by Belén de la Quintana, souvenirs, flamenco records, cajones, photographs and illustrations, poems and lyrics by emerging artists and other great figures, such as guitarist Yerai Cortés.
Next, there is the main room, including the stage and the stalls, an intimate space that treats audiences to the purest Flamenco.
The centre offers intimate performances of traditional flamenco singing, dancing, and guitar, without interruptions from drinks or meals being brought, without any public announcements, and with a limited seating capacity (the auditorium can seat up to 54 people), which provides optimum views of the stage from all seats. The concept is comfortable and elegant, in a small, acclimatised room, accessible for disabled guests.
