Alcalá de Henares, a World Heritage city and the birthplace of the great writer Miguel de Cervantes, hosts this Atlético de Madrid Academy since 2019. Atletico de Madrid plays women's football in its facilities, and is the venue for the training sessions of the clubs belonging to the academy. There will also be campuses, clinics and other projects framed in the international expansion of the club.
Located in the Espartales neighbourhood, the sports centre covers an area of 69,960 square metres, divided into a natural grass stadium with a capacity for 2,700 spectators, five 11-a-side artificial grass football pitches, a 7-a-side football pitch, nine paddle tennis courts, a technical area for goalkeepers and multipurpose spaces (changing rooms, gymnasium, shop, coffe shop, warehouses, teaching room and medical services).
Sports and training activities are developed in the academy, such as classes for children with functional diversity or specific programmes for various groups. In addition, the real sports company Alcalá has one of the 11 football fields for the exclusive use of teams of lower categories.
