Claudio Yanes from Toledo set up his first jeweller’s in Calle del Carmen. From the very beginning, his designs reveal a clear influence of his origins from Toledo, giving the name of his village, Malpica del Tajo, to one of his collections, Malpica. The wedding of King Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia in 1906 was a key moment for the firm, which received several commissions, turning it into one of the most sought-after jeweller’s at that time. This is how the close relationship with the Spanish royal family began.
In the 1970s, the fourth generation of the Yanes family came to the business, with Jesús Yanes and his wife, Manuela, who opened the first establishment in the Salamanca Quarter. The fifth generation is now running the business. The firm has branches throughout Spain and abroad.
In the 1970s, in recognition of its prestige and the quality of its work, it was commissioned with the reproduction of the most important pieces from the Royal Palace of Madrid’s silver collection (National Heritage of the museum).
The “Malpica” and “Alhambra” Collections are still being reproduced and at the same time reinvented, to continue being the firm’s flagship and best-sellers. Engagement rings, anniversary rings and wedding pieces, as well as Yanes Young collections are now the most sought-after pieces by the brand’s young clientele.
Its store on Calle Goya is the firm´s flagship.
