Founded in 1942, the bookshop is named after Benito Pérez Galdós, the famous late 19th and early 20th century novelist and ancestor of the first owners.
The shop is in Calle Hortaleza, very close to Gran Vía, and specialises in buying and selling books. Inside, it's a book lovers' paradise, with high wooden shelves piled high with second-hand books. Its stocks include more than 20,000 out of print books, and you can find anything from an 1868 edition of Don Quixote through to an English version of Montaigne's essays.
