This haberdashery was founded on October 13, 1908, by Hernando Cortés Moro, a native of Villalón de Campos (Valladolid). He began his work in Madrid as an apprentice, and after many years succeeded in opening his own business on Calle Toledo.
It later moved to Corredera Baja and finally came to its current location, where the fourth generation of the Cortés family works, continuing a family-run business in which priority is given to friendly and helpful service.
Initially, the store also sold hardware and pharmaceutical products. Over time, it specialised in haberdashery and dressmaking, with garments for children, lingerie and underwear.
The store is now smaller than it used to be after the founder’s grandchildren inherited the business and divided the space into three establishments, whereby just one of them wanted to continue with the family business.
