This small store in the neighbourhood of La Latina first opened over a century ago and has been specialising in organic food products since 2006. It sells all kinds of organic foods and products. At the beginning of 2023, Madrid City Council awarded this store a commemorative plaque in recognition of its history, stretching back more than a century.
Originally it was a cafe, back in 1895, frequented by workers from the two nearby markets, El Mercado de la Cebada and El Rastro. In 1904, the current owners’ great-grandfather set up an egg shop that, over the years, managed by his descendants, expanded to sell fruit and vegetables. Later, an organic corner was created within the store, which proved a huge hit with customers.
In 2006, the building in which the store is located was completely renovated and, when the store reopened, it was now devoted exclusively to organic food, under its current name.
