This century-old tavern, located in the heart of the Las Salesas neighborhood, opened its doors in 1890. A century later, it remains true to its roots and continues to be a meeting place where you can enjoy homemade food based on traditional Madrid cuisine.
The establishment boasts two cosy and rustic dining areas. The bar area is the meeting point to share tapas with friends or family. The decoration respects the establishment’s history, with rugged grey stone walls and exposed brickwork that evoke the essence of Madrid's taverns. Opened in the same year as the Madrid metro, its signs pay tribute to this fact with its characteristic rhombus-shaped design.
The menu includes Madrid-style tripe and Madrid stew (every Thursday), as well as vegetable casserole, peppers stuffed with hake, ratatouille served with egg, oxtail stew and fried breadcrumbs from the Bardenas.
