The history of this restaurant goes back to 1979, when a society was founded to provide a cultural and culinary meeting point for Basque people living in Madrid. Today, it is a rotisserie restaurant located by the Teatro de la Zarzuela, next to Las Letras district, offering a welcoming atmosphere with throwbacks to the 19th Century.
The specialities served at Sagardi include seasonal dishes such as fresh peas from Tudela, and anchovies in garlic and chilli, as well as other classic dishes such as fried cod, bluefin tuna caught in Barbate and served with pisto (similar to ratatouille), or lamb's feet in a red pepper sauce.
