Located just a stone's throw from two of the city's major museums, the Thyssen and the Prado, La Platería is one of the most famous tapas restaurants in the district of Las Letras. It is a spacious restaurant, with a large central bar area where you can sample different tapas and larger portions such as sautéed potato rounds with 'broken' fried eggs and brie, tuna with ratatouille, and Portuguese style cod.
It also offers a wonderful terrace area right on the Plaza de la Platería de Martínez looking out over the Paseo del Prado and the Prado Museum itself.
