Chefs Javier de Juanas and Laura Ilarraza head up this café-restaurant, which opened in June 2025, celebrating the family legacy, traditional flavours and the warmth of home. Both chefs previously worked in the kitchens of Hotel Brach in 2024, and discovered multiple professional overlaps — including stints with the Dani García group and Hotel Santo Mauro, as well as training at Le Cordon Bleu Madrid. The fact that both of their grandmothers were named Julita inspired them to embark on this joint project under the same name.
This elegant, sophisticated restaurant is spread over two floors. The ground floor is light and airy, with pink furnishings combined with white and pink elsewhere around the restaurant. The upper floor, where the dining room is located, features more pops of colour and nods to tradition in the decoration, from the bistro chairs to the various antiques that adorn the room.
At Julita Café, there are two separate menus. One for breakfast, snacks and brunch, which serves a selection of sweet and savoury offerings throughout the day, including sandwiches and other classic dishes, along with home-made pastries that change daily. The main food menu celebrates top-quality ingredients, from starters like stuffed peppers and classic gildas to mains with inventive takes on favourites — think macaroni with chorizo or a modern spin on traditional meatballs in an almond and saffron sauce, among others.
The attention to detail is exceptional here, and their focus on quality ingredients outstanding. The team works with prestigious suppliers, including Misión Bakery for breads and pastries, Remedios Sánchez for ibérico cured meats, Delta Cafés for coffee, and historic wineries from La Rioja for their curated wine selection.
