Cornamusa Cibeles

In addition to Café Cibeles, the Madrid City Hall building has an elegant restaurant on its sixth floor, currently managed by Grupo Azotea, offering magnificent views of the surrounding area from the terrace (open in summer), at a height of 70 metres.

In Cornamusa you can enjoy the fine signature cuisine devised by chefs Jesús Almagro and Manuel Berganza, who have developed a menu that pays tribute to the best food from Madrid. There is also a wide selection of cocktails, prepared by the group’s director of bars and mixology, Luca Anastasio.

The restaurant decor was designed by Alejandra Pombo’s studio. Cornamusa welcomes diners with an imposing oval bar made of stone with maroon slats. The indoor tables are located around a central skylight creating perfect symmetry in the space. Both the furniture and lighting reflect the honesty of the materials. The place has an interior dining room that can seat around 60 people and an outdoor terrace with incredible views that can accommodate up to 65 people.

The restaurant also pays tribute to the emblematic building in which it is located, the former Palacio de Correos y Telecomunicaciones, and the fact that it housed the Spanish Post Office (Correos) before it became the Madrid City Hall building, with nods to the history of this public company. For example, the restaurant staff uniforms were inspired by those of former Postal workers, the menu is opened with a letter opener, and the account is typed out on an old-fashioned typewriter.

Grupo Azotea is currently in charge of the food at Cibeles Palace.
