This historic bar in the district of Carabanchel, close to Marqués de Vadillo and the Puente de Toledo bridge, has been enjoying a new lease of life since January 2025 thanks to Arturo Romera, Antonio Tapia and Martin Phillipe See, three friends who decided to reopen it to offer a quality service, where you can get simple, honest food and drinks at a reasonable price.
The newly refurbished premises respect the essence of the original bar, which first opened in the 1960s, retaining the original green tiles and some of the wooden panelling on the walls, for example. There are round marble tables dotted around the place along with mirrors, recreating the feel of a traditional bar from the Madrid of yesteryear.
La Capa, which can accommodate around 35 people, is keeping the spirit of traditional Spanish eateries alive, offering good service and food and inviting people to sit back and relax over an unhurried meal, as they don’t stipulate an end time for your reservation.
The menu consists of simple home cooked dishes made from excellent ingredients with a good wine list. They have a lunch menu from Friday to Sunday.
