This French restaurant, founded by the French sommelier, Sébastien Leparoux, whose career spans more than 26 years, has been located in the El Viso neighbourhood, close to Nuevos Ministerios, since 2018, where the finest French dishes can be savoured in a modern, warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Its kitchens, run by the chef from Madrid Pedro Muñagorri, serve first-rate classic dishes, such as pigeon cooked in two styles, bouillabaisse, Provençal-style red snapper or Landes salad, among others. Classics on the menu include terrine of foie gras with kumquat chocolate or the egg cocotte with cream of foie and truffle.
The Lafayette wine cellar is another of its treasures, located in a spacious glazed area in the dining room, with more than 160 French references, carefully selected and guarded by Leparoux.
The restaurant, with a cosy, romantic ambience, features continuous benches and striking red curtains, which add a theatrical touch. On the high ceilings, some customers claim to see features of the Eiffel Tower, with industrial-style beams painted in slate grey, creating an unobtrusive but attractive entrance. There is also a charming terrace surrounded by greenery that offers privacy to enjoy the best French cuisine in Madrid, accompanied by French and jazz music from different eras, from the 1940s to the most contemporary.
