This legendary tavern is located in the Malasaña neighborhood and even though it has been refurbished, it still maintains the original essence it had when it first opened in 1923.
The menu includes portions and half-portions with typical flavors of the traditional cuisine, like croquettes, Spanish potato omelet, calamari, patatas bravas (potatoes with spicy tomato sauce), pickles anchovies or Madrid-style tripes, to mention just a few. They also serve sandwiches, open-faced sandwiches, salads, hamburgers and canned goods. On Saturdays and Sundays they serve the famous La Carmencita brunch.
