Next to the Teatro Real opera house and the Royal Palace is this charming bistro, first opened in 2019 by the restaurateur Miguel Ángel García Marinelli and chef Stéphane del Río, which has become a temple for lovers of French haute cuisine thanks to its elegant and refined atmosphere, its impeccable service, its extensive wine list and, above all, its exceptional cuisine, based on classic French recipes, which have been modernised and made lighter.
This cosy little restaurant, decorated in Provençal style by interior designer Javier Erlanz, combines exposed brick, pots, copper pans and even braided garlic strings with chandeliers and fine upholstered seating.
The dishes on the menu are made from the best quality seasonal ingredients from Spain and France. In addition to the a la carte menu, there are two set menus, Le Menu and Le Grand Menu, which take you on a journey through the culinary traditions of France and its different regions. More elaborate specialities, such as Beef Wellington, can be prepared to order.
They also have an extensive wine list, mainly French, from different producing regions, focusing particularly on Champagne, although it also has Spanish wines with a French accent, a selection of wines from Spanish producers that have some kind of relationship with France.
Le Bistroman has garnered praise from critics and the public alike. Among other distinctions, it has been awarded two Repsol Suns and is recommended by the Michelin Guide, in addition to having been named the Best Restaurant for International Cuisine at the VIII Edition of the Madrid Gastronomy Awards in October 2024.
