Nick Lowe has enjoyed a long career as a songwriter and producer. All his songs have been created at his West London home and he has not lost his essence even though more than four decades have gone by since he started out. Now he will be coming to the Sala Wagon on 13 November to run through his greatest hits, such as Cruel to Be Kind, and more recent songs, like those on the Indoor Safari album (2024), released with The Straitjackets.
Nicholas Drain ‘Nick’ Lowe, born in Surrey, England, in 1949, is a singer, songwriter and record producer whose musical career kicked off in 1966, so he has been creating music for over 40 years. He is a leading figure in the British pub rock, power pop and new wave genres, and can play the guitar, bass, piano and harmonica.
He has explored different musical genres, such as rock, country, soul and pop, as can be seen in his many albums released. His first album, Jesus of Cool, was released in 1978, and he released several hit albums up until 1997, particularly Nick the Knife (1982), The Rose of England (1985) or The Impossible Bird (1994).
He then entered a new era, providing just as much freshness as on his very first day. In recent years, he has released albums such as At My Age (2007), The Old Magic (2011) and Cowboys In The Fatherland (2023).
At this event in Madrid, Nick Lowe will present his latest album, Indoor Safari (2024), which is his first full-length album released alongside The Straitjackets. The album features songs such as Went to a Party, Crying Inside, A Quiet Place and Tokyo Bay, among others, offering all kinds of sounds, ranging from rock to country, soul and pop.
