Donzoko

Founded in 1975 by Satoshi Yano, it is one of the oldest Japanese restaurants in the city, which stands out for the quality and authentic flavour of the traditional Japanese food it serves. It is one of the options chosen by Japanese people who are living in or visiting the city.

The establishment is decorated like a typical Japanese house, sober and without the minimalist details that similar restaurants tend to use.  It has capacity for 100 diners, and it is recommended to book in advance. As a curiosity, the authentic samurai armour, which appears in the film Kagemusha, Shadow Warrior by Akira Kurosawa can be found inside the restaurant, after being donated by the director himself.

Its menu is extensive, with a wide variety of sushis, sashimis and tempuras, and even some dishes that are not found in other Japanese restaurants  but are typical of Japanese cuisine.
