Music spanning different genres and countries will be filling the Plaza Mayor on 14, 15, 16 and 17 May to celebrate the city’s patron saint Festivities of San Isidro 2026, with artists including Baiuca and Las Migas on the line-up. During these popular festivities, you can enjoy all kinds of different sounds, from flamenco fusion and pop to traditional music.
Things kick off on Thursday 14 May with a unique concert celebrating the anniversary of the radio station LOS40 organised by LOS40 and LOS40 CLASSIC. On Friday 15 May, the day Madrid celebrates its patron saint, San Isidro, the Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Madrid will be performing on stage once again, this time paying tribute to Sara Montiel, playing with Nuria Fergó, the famous actress and singer from Malaga.
On Saturday 16 May, there will be several performances starting at 8:00 p.m. with La Bien Querida, one of the most original voices in Spanish pop and indie music. At 9:45 p.m., Baiuca takes to the stage, a cultural and musical phenomenon pioneering the fusion of traditional Galician music with cutting-edge electronics.
On Sunday 17 May at 8:00 p.m., you can watch Las Migas. Finally, at 9:30 p.m., La Juerga Flamenca will be performing on stage in the Plaza Mayor with Antonio Montoya and Carlos Carmona, a show full of charm, rhythm and passion, blending the most authentic flamenco with improvised jamming.
Madrid popular y castizo
The cultural events set to take place in the Plaza Mayor will also cater to more traditional tastes. On Saturday 16 May starting at 12:00 p.m., you can enjoy the 42nd edition of the Madrid Dance Festival. The event will feature live music, traditional costumes and performances of classic folk dances, including lively group dances, elegant 18th-century-style courtly dances and traditional regional styles. These dances and scenes will recreate the customs and traditions that have shaped Spain’s cultural identity for generations:

On Sunday 17 May, starting at 11:30 a.m., the 73rd Annual Folklore Showcase of the Madrid Regional Houses will take place, honouring Madrid’s patron saint. This celebration will highlight the dances, beauty and vibrant costumes of Spain’s diverse regions. All performing groups are members of Madrid’s Casas Regionales (Regional Associations), representing traditional music and dance from Asturias, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Galicia, Extremadura, the Basque Country and Aragon. Each group will showcase the rich colours and styles of their regional attire, offering a vivid glimpse into Spain’s cultural heritage.
