Founded in 1892 by Domingo Mollejo and run by the Benito family since 1947, this hundred-year-old bar, located in the Puerta de Toledo roundabout, stands out for its calamari rations and sandwiches, a real attraction in the days of Rastro for locals and tourists alike.
As well as squid, this establishment has other specialities, such as patatas bravas (fried potatoes), chips cooked and covered with a secret sauce, fried or pickled anchovies, croquettes, snails, Madrid-style tripe or garlic mushrooms, which are served with well-drunk beer, tap vermouth and wine.
The premises have a terrace open all year round.
