From 27 November to 13 December 2026, the world is paying tribute to the most popular bean stews made in Asturias – fabada and verdina dishes – in the event known as Fabada and Verdina Bean Stew Tour, which has been held for the past ten years, and for the past three in its international edition.
The event celebrates Asturias’s most popular dishes, fabada (or broad bean stew) and verdina bean stew, which are part of the Spanish culinary history and will be part of our future too. Held in February in the past to match the UN World Pulses Day, it is now held in March, since 5 December is #WorldFabadaDay.
The Fabada and Verdina Bean Stew Tour pays tribute to two iconic dishes in the history of Spanish cuisine, sharing these culinary secrets from Asturias with the world while emphasising their international flavour, beyond the intricacies of recipes and ingredients.
