Hamid bears the name of its creator and was set up in 1983 in Madrid. Since its origins, the company has been committed to offering high quality hand-knotted oriental rugs, carefully selecting each one individually to provide customers with the best possible selection. As a result, the company offers a wide range of rugs in different designs, both traditional and contemporary, which are the result of ongoing research into colour and quality, leading to the creation of exclusive collections.
In addition to newly created rugs, the company specialises in antique rugs, featuring a limited collection of valuable pieces due to their uniqueness, such as the use of natural dyes and designs that were exclusive to the weavers of their time, which are in perfect condition.
The basic materials used in their rugs are wool, natural silk, and a wool-silk blend. Recently, they have introduced cotton varieties, such as "chenille" natural fibres like hemp, and acrylic fibres.
